Insufficient funds on the card
A common reason why your card purchase may be declined is if there isn’t enough money in your account to cover the purchase.
Log in to the Lunar app and make sure you have sufficient funds in your account for the current card purchase.
Purchase limits and category restrictions
See our limits in our price list, here.
If your transaction exceeds these limits or if it belongs to a category that has been restricted for security reasons, the purchase may be declined.
The card is blocked or deactivated
In some cases the card may have been blocked for security reasons.
Log in to the Lunar app and check if you’ve received a message about a card block.
If you can’t find any message, wait a moment and try again.
If the problem persists, you can contact us via the chat in the app to find out if the card has been blocked and how you can resolve it.
Technical issues with the card
Sometimes technical disruptions can occur that affect card transactions.
Check if the card terminal has coverage and if the card issuer has posted information about a technical disruption on their website.
If the problem persists, wait a moment and try again.
Expired card or incorrect card details
If your card has passed its expiry date or if the card details are incorrect, transactions may be declined.
Log in to the Lunar app and make sure your card is valid and hasn’t passed its expiry date.
Make sure you’ve entered the correct card number, expiry date and security code.
