Lunar Youth is an extra account with an associated card that parents or guardians can open for their children aged 7–17. It’s a transaction account where the parent can deposit money and the child gets a card to use.
The parent opens an extra account, called ‘Lunar Youth’, in their Lunar app, deposits money and orders the child’s card. The parent always has access to the account in the app and can:
Deposit and withdraw money
Lock and unlock the child’s card
Block the card
Monitor account activity
Close the account
Once the account is open, the child can download the ‘Lunar Youth’ app and connect the account to the child’s app by scanning a QR code from the parent’s app. The code can be found under the account in the parent’s app.
Open a Lunar Youth account
Click ‘Wallet’ in the bottom menu bar
Click ‘+ Add’ in the upper right corner
Select ‘Lunar Youth’
Read the information, click ‘Get started’ and follow the steps.
You should now see a confirmation notification in the app.
Order a Youth card
Go to ‘Order card’ in the app
Select the Youth card
Customise the engraving and create a PIN code
Confirm the delivery address
Follow the steps in the app to complete the order.
Only one physical Youth card can be ordered. The Youth card can only be linked to a digital wallet if the child is over 13 years old and it has first been approved by the parent in iOS or Android. Please note that it’s the digital wallet you use that determines the age limits for connecting to the wallet.
Card limits
ATM withdrawal per day: 2 000 SEK
Cash withdrawal per month: 10 000 SEK
Purchase per day: 10 000 SEK

Currently the parent cannot set custom limits, but we’re working on introducing this feature in the future. See our price list for current limits, here.
Account owner
The customer relationship is between Lunar and the parent, which means the parent has the legal and financial responsibility for the account and is the account owner. They can activate the product, deposit money and have full responsibility for the account. On bank statements and account certificates, the parent is listed as the account owner. The Youth account can only be connected to one parent. The child is the cardholder but the parent has full responsibility for the account, the card and all account activity.
Cost of Lunar Youth
Youth is included at no extra cost in the Plus and Unlimited plans. A Youth account counts as an extra account, which means the number of Youth accounts you can open depends on your plan. See our price list for more information, here.
When the child turns 18
Four weeks after the child turns 18, the Youth product is deactivated. The account remains as a regular extra account, and the child can apply for their own Lunar account. We’ll of course reach out in good time before your child turns 18 with instructions on how your child can continue with Lunar even after their 18th birthday if you wish.
