Strong customer authentication
Strong customer authentication (SCA) is a legal requirement and a security method that exists to protect consumers.
SCA means that you must confirm your identity with at least two independent factors from the following three categories: Knowledge, something you know, for example a password. Possession, something you have, for example your phone. Inherence, something you are, for example a fingerprint.
In addition to your password, for most online card purchases you may need to sign with 3D Secure in the Lunar app. It’s an extra level of security and makes it harder for unauthorised parties to access your account.
3D Secure
3D Secure is a security solution that reduces the risk of fraud on online card purchases. It confirms that it’s you making the purchase.
When you shop online, you’re asked to verify the purchase in the Lunar app. Log in and approve the payment via the 3D Secure notification.
