Investing in stocks and funds always involves risk. The value can both increase and decrease, and you may lose all or part of your invested capital.
Your assets at Saxo Bank are protected as follows:
Uninvested money (account balance) in your Saxo Bank account – your balance on your stock account is covered by the Danish deposit guarantee (Garantiformuen) with up to 100 000 EUR, which corresponds to approximately 1 000 000 SEK.
Invested securities (stocks and ETFs) are covered by the Danish investor protection with up to 150 000 DKK, which corresponds to approximately 215 000 SEK.
Buy and sell stocks and ETFs
Click ‘Assets’ in the bottom menu bar
Click ‘Invest’ followed by ‘Explore’
Click the stock or ETF you want to buy or sell
Click ‘Buy’ or ‘Sell’, enter the number of shares and follow the steps.
Fees
Brokerage fee: 25 SEK per transaction. If you trade for more than 60 000 SEK, the brokerage fee is 0.1% of the total amount.
Currency exchange: 0.5% when buying foreign stocks and ETFs.

Reporting to the Swedish Tax Agency (Skatteverket)
Share and fund account (Aktie och fondkonto, AF): You are responsible for declaring your trading yourself. Read more on the Swedish Tax Agency’s website, here.
An investment savings account (Investeringssparkonto, ISK): Saxo Bank automatically reports the flat-rate basis to the Swedish Tax Agency. You don’t need to do anything. Read more on the Swedish Tax Agency’s website, here.
